Matthew Prebus

I find the ants intriguing as a group because of their incredible diversity in morphology, behavior, and ecological roles. My research interests include: the taxonomy, evolution, natural history, and biogeography of ants; evolution of of ant social parasites; reconciliation of molecular and morphological phylogenetic approaches, and  phylogenetic best practices. I am currently working on the phylogeography of the genus Temnothorax in the Neotropics, and a species-level taxonomic revision of the Temnothorax salvini clade, a primarily Neotropical group which contains many newly discovered, undescribed species.

Pleas visit my ResearchGate page for further details on my publications and current projects.
